The Statewide Mobility Report is a valuable metric provided by MD SHA on an annual basis. This report focuses on key metrics such as mobility trends and mitigation strategies resulting in user cost savings. More specifically the reports depicts trends in growth, congestion, and reliability.

Itenology Corporation provides technical support to MD SHA in the development and improvement of the MD Mobility Report and has conducted “Before & After Studies at various locations throughout the State of Maryland. Recent assignments included:

  •    MD 145 and MD 146 in Baltimore County
  •    US 50 at Friendship Road/Seahawk Road in Worcester County
  •    MD 197 and Powder Mill Road in Prince George's County
  •    MD175 and Rockenbach Road/Ridge Road in Anne Arundel County

From the Cost-Benefit Analysis viewpoint, the Before and After Studies involve comparative analyses of conditions prior to and after an improvement project, thus quantifying the resulting benefits to the traveling public. These results typically include comparison of measures of effectiveness such as speed, density, level of service, travel time, overall network delay, etc. to quantify benefits derived from VISSIM or Synchro/SimTraffic simulation.
